Christmas is coming. This afternoon, my father and I happily went to Century Lianhua supermarket to buy Christmas tree.
And as we got there, we took the elevator to the two floor with the crowd. The Christmas tree is green show in front of us, next to the cabinet is filled up with exquisite Christmas gift, let a person see dazzling.
My father and I first chose a Christmas tree, and it was taller than me! Then, we began to pick out some beautiful little pendants to decorate the Christmas tree. I chose a beautiful big star, outside is silver white, inside is pink, with gold embroidered English "Merry Christmas", looks like a glowing; and then I chose a gold ring, a few green leaves below it, there are two bright small red and a beautiful little red flowers and green leaves in the middle. Pick a string of red grapes father, with a yellow bow, bright grape can show my father and I smile. We also chose a cute little snowman, a red calico fan, three white foam flakes and a box of colorful flashing lights.
After paying the money, we are rewarding. As soon as I got home, I couldn't wait to spread the branches and leaves of the Christmas tree, and hung these lovely little pendants onto the tree. Dad put the flashing lights around the Christmas tree and turned on the power! Colorful "stars" playfully blinking beautiful small eyes, a while red, green for a while, a little yellow, a moment colorful...... It's like playing hide and seek with me! They make the tree even more beautiful.
Looking at my own Christmas tree, my heart was so happy that my father and I sang and danced next to the tree, and it was very happy!
Now Christmas Day comes, I feel so excited, though Christmas Day originates in the western country, now it is popular around the world. Our family will spend the hour on that day, I will get present from my parents. This year, I am so looking forward to receiving the gift from my parents, I love Christmas Day.
I had a very special Christmas day new year. I experienced the western style festival. There was a new foreign teacher taught us the lesson. She was about 50 years old and she was very kind and we all liked her. On Christmas Day, she brought us the desserts she made early in the morning. We enjoyed the home-made cakes. What's more, she invited us to came to her house and spent the day with her. Then for the first time, I ate big turkey, which was so delicious. The turkey was filled with many stuffs and the flavor was so good. After dinner, we sang songs and danced.
In the evening, the families usually have pudding, sandwiches, apple pies and some other desserts for dinner.After supper, the families always sing and dance around the Christmas tree.Sometimes, they also go to church.Before going to bed, the children often hang up their stockings beside their bed, so that Father Christmas will fill them with presents.It is said that Father Christmas always drives a deer to the human world and entering into each house from the chimney.Now the children no longer believe in Father Christmas, but they still hang up their stockings, because their parents will fill them with presents.
Christmas Day is very popular around the world, when that day comes, we can see the Christmas products sell everywhere, though Christmas Day is not originating from China, in our country, more and more people spend that day. A foreigner pointed out that Christmas meant to be grateful for them, while for Chinese people, it was just a day for celebrating. To me, Christmas indeed means a day to have fun. When I was small, I did not have the concept of Christmas, because in my mind, I only knew Chinese traditional festivals, I liked Spring Festival best, I could get a lot of money from parents. When I went to high school, all of my friends would talk about Christmas Day when the day was near, so I started to know it. Almost every young people like Christmas, but if you ask them what the meaning of the day, less of them can answer.
The meaning of Christmas Day is to remind people of Jesus’s birth, it is so important for the western people, but for me, I only want to have fun, everyone is celebrating it, so I join them, being happy, that’s enough for me.

At one counter an old lady was choosing gloves red ones for her daugher in law, light blue ones for her niece, pink ones for her grand daughter, green ones for her sister and by the time she had found what she wanted, the counter was covered with pairs of all colors and sizes.
When the salesgirl had finally written out the bill and was about to turn to the next customer with a tired voice. "Thank you very much, madam," the old lady suddenly cried out, "Oh, I almost forgot..."——"Anything else, madam?" said the girl, "Yes," began the old lady, "I'd like to buy another pair, but I' m not quite sure about what exactly I should cloose. I wonder if you could help me." "Certainly, madam", was the girl's reply. The old lady then went on to explain that what she was looking for was a pair of gloves for a girl of her age. She was not at ail sure what color to choose, and the design was a problem too.
The tired girl did her best to help the old lady make up her mind, showing her ail kinds of gloves.
At last the chosen pair of gloves were wrapped up and paid for as well, and as the girl was about to turn to the next customer, the old lady handed her a little parcel and said, "These now, dear, these are for you and thank you for being so patient. I do hope you have a merry Christmas !"
